LivePlan can import accounting actuals and use them to build a starting forecast automatically. To use this feature, you'll need to:
- Have an existing business
- Use QuickBooks Online or Xero for your accounting
- Have at least a few months of actuals data
You can use the automatic forecast feature when creating a new company file. Select the Dashboard as your starting point, and then follow the process outlined in this video:
Alternatively, you can also use the automatic forecast when you're creating a new forecast scenario in a company file.
With the automatic forecast feature, LivePlan uses your most recent year of actuals to build a starting forecast. The Revenue, Direct Costs, and Expenses tabs are populated from your actuals.
Once the automatic forecast is built, you'll want to update it to make it strategic.
