The Scoreboard overview shows you a standard set of key metrics at a glance (i.e., revenue, expenses, cash flow, net profit, gross margin). The overview charts are meant to give you a general sense of how your metrics are trending, so they are smaller than the charts on the trend views and they don't all have labels or legends. But, clicking on any metric on the overview will take you to more a detailed trend view for that metric:
Selecting an actual results period and comparison period
Using the pair of selectors at the top of the overview, you can choose an actual results period (the current month, the current quarter, etc.) and then choose a period to compare that to (your forecast, the previous period, or the same period in the previous year):
LivePlan will remember the selections you make with the date selector and the comparison selector until you change them again. These settings are saved separately for each user on your account. They will also carry through from the overview to the trend view. That is, if you use the overview selectors to choose to view compare actuals from last month to the previous period, these selectors will be set the same when you navigate to the trend view:
About the "sticky" navigation controls
On both the overview and the trend view, as you scroll down the page, the selection controls will undock from the top navigation bar and stay in view. Scrolling back to the top of the view will dock the selection controls again.
Connecting to an accounting solution
The LivePlan Scoreboard can import your actuals data from Xero or QuickBooks Online. This means that if you use either of these solutions, you won't have to enter your actual numbers into LivePlan manually, your results will stay continually updated, and you'll be able to quickly compare your actuals to your LivePlan forecast. To connect to your accounting solution from the overview, click the Connect to your accounting solution link:

Reading the overview charts
Although there are numerous different chart types, most of the charts on the overview show the following basic pieces of information:
Why is my Scoreboard empty?
The first time you arrive on the overview page, there might not be any actual numbers to compare to your plan yet, and your charts may appear fairly empty:
This is because the metric charts on the Scoreboard are generated using two sets of information: your plan's forecast and your actual results (from manual entry or your accounting solution). To make full use of the Scoreboard you’ll first need to complete your forecast and then either update your actuals manually or connect to your accounting solution to import your actuals.
