Adding and managing email digests Follow

 

The Email Digest feature is designed to deliver handy summaries of the emails you're receiving. You can receive a digest hourly or daily, at the times of day and days of the week you choose.

Digests will appear in both your Outpost inbox and your source email account's inbox. When you click on any email in the digest, you'll be taken to the full conversation in your Outpost account.

You can receive broad digests containing all new email in your account, or you can customize your digests in a number of ways:

  • Highlighting specific mailboxes
  • Highlighting emails that have been assigned to you
  • Highlighting unread emails

Digest are flexible, so feel free to create any configuration that fits your needs. You can update a digest's settings at any time.

Adding an email digest

You can create as many email digests as you like in your account. 

  1. Click the Settings gear in the upper right corner of the window:

  2. In the sidebar of the Settings page, click Email digests:

  3. In the upper right corner of the Email Digests page, click the [+] sign to add a new digest:

  4. A set of parameters will appear. First, choose whether you'd like the digest to include all mail, mail assigned to you, or unread mail. Then choose whether the digest should include mail from all mailboxes on the account, or one specific mailbox:

    Note: When you select All mailboxes, you will have access to all of the mailboxes assigned to you. If you need to be assigned to a mailbox, please see Changing the users who have access to a mailbox.

  5. Finally, set the frequency, time of day, and select the days of the week you'd like to receive this digest:

  6. You may want to make sure that your account's time zone setting is correct so that Outpost will send the digest at your specified time. Outpost uses the time zone set in your account's Preferences to schedule digests. To update this setting, click on the preferences link at the bottom of the Email Digests page:

  7. Click Save Changes:

    Note: If, within the day or hour, no emails match the criteria you've set, then you will not receive a digest for that period.

 

Editing an email digest

You can update the settings of any of your email digests at any time. 

  1. Click the Settings gear in the upper right corner of the window:

  2. In the sidebar of the Settings page, click Email digests:

  3. You will now see a preview card for each of your digests listed on the Email Digests page. Use the pull-down menus on any preview card to update its settings:

  4. Click Save Changes:

Deleting an email digest

Deleting an email digest will immediately stop digest emails from sending.

  1. Click the Settings gear in the upper right corner of the window:

  2. In the sidebar of the Settings page, select Email digests:

  3. Click on the trash can icon next to the digest you'd like to delete:

  4. Click Delete to confirm the deletion:
